The newest Olympic Event...Snow Scooter

So we have really become engrossed with the winter Olympics this year; As a result, Landon has become a huge snowboarder fan. That kid just cracks me up. We are sitting on the couch watching the great Olympians like Shawn White, and Landon keeps asking when I will take him snowboarding. As we are in the middle of watching the event I am only half listening to him and try to explain that the sport is expensive, that it is not as easy as it looks, he would need someone to teach him how to do it, and that the snow season is about over, maybe we can go next year. Landon being as hard headed as he is, was insistent that he needed to start immediately if he were to be in the Olympics. The child wanted me to take him out at 10:00 at night and let him snowboard. I figured that this would be a fleeting request, but the next day Landon was out on his scooter practicing for the Olympics. He started to explain to me that he was doing hops on his scooter since I wouldn't take him snowboarding for real. He went on further saying, "I have to practice these hops, because technically they are an important part of snowboarding." I took him up to the park to practice on the skate ramp, but after mastering that(so he said), he needed a bigger challenge, so we went to a handicap ramp in front of the restrooms for him to practice his "half pipe". Then he needed to work on his "hill work" so he took the scooter to the parking ramp, and then to the mega hill, a grassy hill which he told me was "a way to really challenge himself."

I guess that I better figure out away to take this poor kid up to the mountain to snowboard next year. Landon is tenacious enough that if I don't I can see him when he is an Olympian telling the world how mean his mother was, and made him learn to snowboard on a scooter.
